Christian funeral:

Christian funeral rites:
The funeral emphasizes hope, comfort, and rebirth, centering on faith. Through prayer, biblical verses, and hymns, it commemorates the deceased's life and reminds everyone of God's promise of eternal life. The entire funeral process is not one of sorrow and despair, but rather a farewell filled with hope.
I. Body Handling and Memorial Service: After the deceased's passing, the Fu Gui Mountain Villa funeral team will transport and prepare the body, followed by setting up a simple and solemn memorial service area. The decorations will primarily feature crosses, flowers, and Bible verses, avoiding excessive extravagance and expressing the meaning of faith in a simple way.
II. Remembrance Service Opening Prayer: Asking God to comfort the family. Hymn Worship: Expressing faith and hope through hymns. Bible Reading and Sermon. Eulogy: Remembering the deceased's life. Family and Congregation Prayer: Praying for strength and peace for the deceased's family. "Remembering, comforting, and hoping."
III. Funeral and Burial/Creation Ceremony: After the ceremony, the family escorts the coffin to the crematorium. The pastor conducts a pre-cremation prayer and entrustment ceremony: symbolizing entrusting the deceased to the Lord's embrace. A blessing prayer is offered, asking God to comfort the family and grant them peace. IV. Follow-up Care and Remembrance: A farewell ceremony centered on faith, hope, and love, allowing the family to find comfort in God's promises and hope for a reunion in heaven.
Taoist funeral rites:

Taoist funeral rites:
Taoist funerals, blending customs from Southern Fujian, Chaozhou, and Fujian, center on "remembering ancestors and honoring the deceased" and "persuading the departed to a better life and comforting the family." Through a series of traditional rituals, ceremonies, and offerings, they help the deceased smoothly complete their final journey and also help family members express their respect, offer blessings, and remember their loved ones. Taoist customs in Singapore and Malaysia emphasize filial piety, gratitude, and the concept of cause and effect.
I. Body Transport and Ritual Cleansing: The Taoist funeral service involves transporting the deceased to Fugui Mountain Villa for ritual cleansing, tidying, dressing, and placement. This symbolizes removing impurities and preserving dignity, allowing the deceased to face the final stage of life with a solemn and dignified appearance.
II. Taoist Funeral Hall: Tablets of Laozi, the Three Pure Ones, or ancestors. Incense table, offerings, crane and lotus flower arrangement. Taoist talismans and ritual implements. During the vigil, family members burn incense, offer tea, and bow three times. Keep the lamps burning, symbolizing guiding the deceased.
III. Taoist Ritual for the Deceased and for the Delivered (Performing Merit and Conducting Taoist Ceremony): The Taoist priest presides over the chanting ceremony to guide the deceased out of suffering.
The Three Pure Ones Ritual: Praying for the deceased to attain good fortune and be reborn in a better realm; guiding the soul, calming the soul, and recommending the deceased: stabilizing the soul of the deceased and preventing it from wandering aimlessly. The Flaming Mouth Ritual: Offering food to all sentient beings to increase blessings and merits. The scriptures recited include the "Taishang Laojun's Discourse on Eliminating Disasters," the "Three Officials Scripture," and the "Jade Emperor Scripture," etc., to pray for the salvation of the deceased and the protection of the family's peace.
IV. Funeral Procession and Cremation Ceremony On the day of the funeral procession, a Taoist priest will perform a road-clearing, guidance, and worship ceremony. Family members will escort the deceased to the crematorium.
V. Placement and Worship of Ashes After cremation, the ashes will be placed in the columbarium niche at Fugui Mountain Villa. Taoist priests will perform the enshrinement, placement, and purification rituals to provide a peaceful resting place for the deceased.
Funerals are not just about saying goodbye, but also about "pacifying the soul, bringing peace to the home, and giving peace of mind." They are a sign of respect for the deceased and a continuation of family bloodlines and traditions.
